The Commission of the Council on Occupational Education met on December 10, 2020. During this meeting the Boone Career and Technical Center and its extension the Boone Career and Technical Center's Truck Driving Academy were accredited by the council. Receiving accreditation denotes that an institution has undergone an extensive self-study and team review process and has been judged by the Commission as meeting its Standard and Conditions for accreditation. Being "Accredited" is the first step in being able to offer Federal Pell Grants to qualifying students beginning in the fall of 2021.
