Are you interested in the great outdoors, adventure, and event planning? Would you like to pursue a career in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry? If so, the Adventure Tourism Management Program at BCTC is for you! Our highly trained instructor provides students with a unique and beneficial opportunity to experience the Travel and Tourism Adventure Industry right here in the Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. This program is designed for students interested in careers pertaining to Event Planning, Hospitality, Tourism, Outdoor Leadership, Hotel/Restaurant Operations, and many more!

Meet The Instructor

Robert Miller is the instructor for the Adventure Travel Tourism program. He has a Master’s Degree in Education from Concord University. Robert is currently serving on the Steering Committee Team for how to best use the Workman Branch properties which lie adjacent to the city of Madison. This 3200 acre recreation area has immediately made Madison one of the top two greenest cities in West Virginia. He has 25 years of experience teaching and coaching in the WV public school system. Robert serves on the Steering Committee for the West Virginia Geographic Alliance. While serving the Alliance, he has presented at national and regional conferences in Portland, Memphis, Tampa, Washington D.C. and Pipestem. He is on the Board of Directors for the Forks of Coal State Natural Area Foundation, and also serves as a member on the Boone County Parks Board. Robert was awarded the WV Environmental Teacher of the Year” in 2021 by the WV Department of Environmental Protection.
